Our LA Noire Gold Film Reels locations guide will help you find all 50 Gold Film Canisters. These collectible items are spread throughout the game and finding all of these golden movie reels will also give you an Achievement or Trophy.
All of the Gold Reels are named after real flicks from the 1940s and discovering the location of all of them will earn you an Achievement or Trophy called “Hollywoodland”. Here is the detailed description.
Hollywoodland (30G Achievements/Silver Trophies) – Find and inspect all gold film reels.
These Golden Canister collectables are similar to the collectibles from other Rockstar titles like the hidden packages or secret pigeons/seagulls.

Gold Film Reel Location #1 – The Big Sleep

You will be able to find this Golden Film Reel in Hollywood. It is located under a small water tower at the West end of Hollywood Boulevard. You will be able to see trolley tracks loop for a turn around.

Gold Film Reel Location #2 – The Letter

You will be able to find this Golden Film Reel just North of the crossroads of the worlds in Hollywood. When you get to Selma Avenue, you will need to climb the first stairs you see which are located on your left hand side. The reel is located on the second level in the townhouse porch.

Gold Film Reel Location #3 – Brute Force

When you arrive in Hollywood, you will need to find the short dead-end road. This road is located West from Schrader Boulevard. You will be able to find the film reel on the sidewalk between the road and the residential road. You should also be able to see the field.

Gold Film Reel Location #4 – Nightmare Alley

You will need to find a double story shopping area. This shopping area is located just North of Franklin Avenue in Hollywood. It is near the Ivar Avenue intersection. You will need to head into the alley located on the west side of the shops. The film reel is located at the end of the narrow walkway bear some rubbish bins. You will need to look below the captain character on the Capt’n Saltee chip billboard.

Gold Film Reel Location #5 – Where The Sidewalk Ends

This reel is located on the floor behind the large column at the entrance to Palladium Theater. You may also know it as Sunset Boulevard, Vine Street and El Centro Avenue.

Gold Film Reel Location #6 – Gilda

You will be able to find this reel behind the Circle K petrol station. This petrol station is located in Hollywood at the intersection of Cahuenga Boulevard and De Longp’s Avenue. You will need to have a look on the ground between two palm trees.

Gold Film Reel Location #7 – In A Lovely Place

You will be able to find this reel in the Hawaii Mini Golf Course on El Centro Avenue. This road is located South of Hollywood. You will be able to find this reel under the eighth tee.

Gold Film Reel Location #8 – Odd Man Out

You will be able to find this reel on the balcony of the Turquoise Bungalow in the neighborhood off of St Andrews Pl.

Gold Film Reel Location #9 – The Night of the Hunter

You will be able to find this reel in the South entrance in the Hillside Motel’s Courtyard. You will need to look on the ground in the Northeast Corner of the motel’s pool.

Gold Film Reel Location #10 – The Spiral Staircase

You will be able to locate this reel in the small park next to Samuel’s Delicatessent. This Deli is located off of Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywoof. You will need to have a look around in the grass near the birdbath.
